""I had my first appointment with the team at HomePhysio By Nicola Ltd Clinic in Selkirk. First impression as I walked through the door was that it is a very welcoming reception area. Sign post saying to help yourself to tea/coffee etc.
A warm welcome from the receptionist who again asked if I would like anything while I wait.
Very clean and presentable place.
I didn't wait long at all for the physio to take me through. She was very kind and polite, took the time to ask me how l was and what the issues I am having are.
Thorough assessment from her with hands on work to begin the process. Always made sure I was ok with what she was doing.
As soon a the appointment was finished, she sent me a link to the app where I have a personalised exercise programme.

"Nicola has been very supportive and creative in her therapy approach, making exercises fun and rewarding: whether it be reaching out to switch a toy, or sitting supported bouncing on Mummy’s pilates ball, or standing making steps in the harness, with music on for motivation. On one occasion she even brought some sticky slime to play with to help his hands! Matthew is unable to sit independently, but Nicola encouraged him to sit in balance on the side of the bed. Eventually after some time, he could sit by himself for around a minute, this was quite an achievement. She will encourage staff to take on passive exercise work and encourage them to get involved in therapy sessions.
Nicola worked with us, listening to what our goals were for our son, and challenging him and us to reach forward to achieve new ones. We always looked forward to her weekly visits and when we eventually managed to create a hydro pool, she took her sessions into the water with, this was a whole new experience. I would recommend her highly. She is kind and knowledgeable and has a great approach both to the client and the parents! It is a team approach. On a practical level, she has also supported us with equipment reviews and splinting, liaising with orthotics."

Covid 19 recovery
Nicola has worked with my husband (who is recovering from being very ill with covid and spent 9 mths in hospital) for the past few mths and we are 100% happy with the treatment she has provided. She has different equipment that she uses to challenge him such as weights for his wrists, balancing board to strengthen his legs and core muscles. He has become more motivated and willing to achieve as much as he can from the sessions. Nicola has worked extremely hard on trying to get my husbands hands and fingers moving. There has been great progress and improvement since she started. She continually gives him praise which really helps him to work hard and achieve good results. She is a very caring and hard working lady who has great knowledge in what she does. My husband wouldn't have got to this stage if it hadn't been for Nicola.

I found Nicola before my diagnosis as I was struggling to attend various appointments due to my mobility. The fact that Nicola was able to come to my home was of great help to me. From the first visit I was greatly impressed by Nicola’s expertise and her caring attitude regarding my needs.
I cannot stress enough how valuable a home visit is when you are struggling with a disability.
